Hi! My name is Lisa and after college I wound up in a full-time office job that had nothing to do with my major or my passions – Needless to say, I didn’t enjoy the work I was doing. I knew I had some major chops for social media and marketing, so I saved up, quit my job, and started this website to show small businesses, brands and bloggers how easy and fun social media management, online media, sponsored advertising and blogging for profit can be.
I’m also an entertainment, pop-culture, and media nerd at heart. When I’m not working, you can find me watching comedy on TV (30 Rock, The Office, Parks are Rec, and SNL are a few of my favorites).
Oh, and for the curious – The name The Drifting Desk comes from the idea that bloggers can work from anywhere. I’m passionate that I wish for everyone a flexible job that fits the lifestyle they want to live- regardless if that is traveling the world or spending your days with your kids. I’m fascinated with 100% remote companies and by how the traditional work world is evolving because of the internet.
My first post to ever go viral was 67 Companies That Let You Work From Anywhere (and I like to daydream that it matched many great job candidates with some of the amazing companies on that list!)
