Ready to work from anywhere with a location independent job ?!

Flexibility and Freedom. When you have a location independent job, it means you can perform your work from anywhere. Here are eleven cool spots you may not have realized you could work from when your job allows you to literally work from anywhere.

1. Your spouse’s hotel room

If your spouse travels for work, and your work travels with you, logic dictates that you could tag along with them (if their company allows). You can work alone from their hotel room by day (or a local coffee shop or café with a view) and spend the evenings exploring the city together.

2. Coworking Spaces

Find a fun, urban shared office space to network and collaborate with other people working location independently, just like you.

…or completely ignore everyone but still feel like you are part of the hustle and bustle of the busy world for the day. The option for human interaction is yours and yours alone when your job lets you work from anywhere.

3. Your Baby’s Room

Location independent jobs are becoming increasingly popular for stay at home parents wanting to be a more active part of their child’s day-to-day life while still generating an income. A mid-day nap and or cuddle session is recommended.

4. The Beach

You don’t need to limit your big family trips to once every few years for the sake of hoarding PTO, because your location independent job comes with you. Basking in the glow of your flexible job feels great when it’s literal.

5. Your Parents’ House

Traveling home to spend time with the people who helped you become the digital nomad you are today suddenly becomes increasingly possible. Good luck focusing on work with the smell of mom’s meatloaf wafting from the kitchen.

6. Your Best Friend’s Condo

Sometimes you just need to be in the presence of your best friend even if you aren’t chatting the entire time. The location independent have the option to work while visiting with those closest to you that were understandably neglected during your desk job days. They’ll give you some space to focus throughout the day if you promise to take a break and help get that box in their closet down since they can’t reach it alone.

7. An Airplane

Vacations are awesome. Plane rides can be lame. Just because you are airborne doesn’t mean you have to be clocked out. Traditional jobs dock your PTO as soon as you leave the office and head to the airport. Location independent jobs, on the other hand, recognize that being strapped into fuel-propelled, building-sized cylinder full of 200 strangers of all ages for hours on end isn’t necessarily considered a vacation. Work on the plane and save your downtime for when it really matters.

8. Your Car

Don’t worry, they’ll all be driving for us soon enough.

9. Your bed

Too sick to trek across town and make it into the office but still feel like you could be productive? Your location independent job lets you work from the cozy warmth of your bed, but it’s on you to stay awake.

10. The Bathtub

Ok, so it might freak people out if they knew you were actually in the bathtub working. But that can be our little secret. Word to the wise though: humidity on your laptop can be deadly (I speak from personal experience).

11. Your favorite restaurant

People who have location independent jobs can and do work from food establishments. To summarize: You have the option to make money while you eat a Cheesy Gordita Crunch. Seriously. This is real life.
