5 Health Boosting Home Office Plants
Not only do houseplants work as wonderful, functional decor – they also help keep you healthy. And I’ve been researching different ways to make my home office more healthy lately, as I’ve been sick 5 times in the last few months where as I used to go years in between sicknesses! Getting some healthy, air-purifying plants up in my office seems like a very easy step I could take to aid in being more healthy.
How do our little health boosting office plants help clean our indoor home office air? The plants themselves, along with microorganisms in the potting soil, help capture air particles as it moves through the photosynthesis process! I was absolutely fascinated with this when I started reading about it. I even read that houseplants can help fight mental fatigue and make you feel smarter.
I’ve created a great list of 5 health boosting office plants to get you started with making your home office healthy:
1) Jade
This beautiful, tiny little succulent is an amazing indoor office plant. This rewarding and and forgiving houseplant is supposedly lucky, and is known as a “money tree”. It couldn’t hurt to keep a plant rumored to bring about financial success around your home office.

2 ) Snake Plant
My personal, all-time favorite home office plant. I spent a summer in Europe and forgot to ask someone to water it, and I came back expecting to see it dead. It had doubled in size and was thriving without any attention. This is the perfect plant for me and is one of the most low-maintenance indoor plants in existence. Besides filtering out formaldehyde (which are in a lot of common home cleaning products), Snake plants actually and oddly release oxygen instead of carbon dioxide, which can give you a little breathing boost. 3) Aloe
Also a favorite to filter out toxins from cleaners, Aloe is easy to grow and has been used for thousands of years. How could you not fall in love with a plant that ancient Egyptians labelled “the plant of immortality”.

4) Peace Lily
This hardy plant, which will droop when it’s thirsty (making it supes easy to take care of) is high on NASA’s list of plants that remove formaldehyde, benzene and trichloroethylene. Peace Lilies also LOVE shade, so they are perfect if your home office desk is far removed from a sunny window.

5) Garden Mums
The Garden Mum can remove formaldehyde, ammonia, benzene and xylene from the air inside your home office. It’s gorgeous and blooms, and can be transferred outside if you need to make room for other awesome health boosting home office plants 🙂
