The modern cubicle was born out of outdated conceptions. For that main reason, I hated the traditional work world so very much. I couldn’t thrive and enjoy my life at my desk job. I felt guilty about that for a very long time until I realized that I was just not meant to be in that type of environment.
Luckily, there’s crazy growth in the location independent sector of employment. Many people, especially millennials, are becoming increasingly vocal and demanding about being ‘allowed’ to work remotely. And if their company isn’t providing it, people are creating their own careers that do provide it.
There’s an ugly side to the traditional work world that many people have experienced. Corporate desk jobs are notorious for employing people in lackluster, uninspiring and rigid jobs. Many people struggle in these types of roles.
Seeing this side of the traditional work world is all the motivation some people will need to start figuring out how to live their work life as a digital nomad on their own terms.
